Roast Beef Sliders

This recipe comes straight from my mom and the sliders are so good, if there are leftovers, people will be asking to bring them home. These are super easy to assemble and can be made a little ahead of time if you're cooking for a crowd, so all you need to do in the moment is bake them. The subtle sweetness of the Hawaiian Rolls pairs perfectly with the salty goodness of the roast beef and crispy onions. A double dose of melty provolone with the buttery savory topping, and you'll be licking your fingers on your way for seconds.

Ingredients:

For the sliders:

2 TBS butter, melted

1 pkg Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (12 rolls)

1 LB fresh sliced deli roast beef

12 slices Provolone Cheese

1 1/2 cups French Fried Onions

For the topping:

1 stick butter

2 TBS Au Jus seasoning mix

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 TBS toasted sesame seeds

1 tsp dried minced garlic

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp Lawry's season salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Spread the melted 2 TBS butter in bottom of a 9x13 glass pan

  3. Keeping the rolls attached to each other, carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half like burger buns (the flat way)

  4. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the pan and top with 6 slices of provolone cheese

  5. Top with the roast beef, and remaining slices of provolone.

  6. Sprinkle with the crispy onions and place the top of the rolls on top

  7. Mix the topping ingredients in a small bowl and brush the tops of the rolls with the topping, pouring any remaining toping around the sides of the pan

  8. Bake at 350 for 15-20 mins until center is hot and cheese is melty

  9. Cut sliders through to pan with a serrated knife

  10. Serve with Dijon Mustard and/or Au Jus sauce (1/2 ingredients as prepared on packet directions)
